Entry requirements

Admission is by committee review of academic record, work experience and a statement of intent. Required application materials include a completed graduate application and official transcripts verifying a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, physical education or a related area from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants finishing their degree may submit a current transcript and must provide a final transcript before enrollment.

Applicants without a bachelor’s in the field may satisfy prerequisites by either: a minimum of 12 semester units of prerequisite study in kinesiology/PE (excluding activity/participation units); four years full‑time PE teaching/coaching (or eight years part‑time); or combinations of academic and work experience equivalent to 12 semester units. Applicants with a bachelor’s GPA below 2.75 must submit a letter of explanation plus a resume of relevant experience.
