Programme overview

The Grado en Veterinaria at Universidad de Murcia is a presencial degree taught in Spanish that spans five academic years and totals 300 ECTS, in line with European Directive 36/2005 which sets the minimum length for veterinary studies. The intake is limited (90 new places) and the faculty has been positively evaluated by the EAEVE/FVE process.

What you'll study

Curriculum content follows the EU-defined subject areas and focuses on three core strands: clinical and animal health; production animal systems and hygiene; and inspection, control and food safety. The programme is supported by practical infrastructures including a Hospital Clínico Veterinario, a Granja Docente Veterinaria (teaching farm) and a Planta Piloto for hands-on training.

Entry requirements

Admission is competitive: 90 places are offered for new entrants. The published cut-off (nota de corte) for 2025/2026 is 11.34. Teaching language is Spanish and the programme is delivered face-to-face.

Employment for veterinary graduates from this faculty spans public administration (about 25%), clinical veterinary practice (about 35%), private industry such as pharmaceutical, feed and meat sectors (about 25%), and other roles (15%) including advisory work and care of exotic or wild animals. Historically the profession has shown low unemployment (reported under 5%).
