Programme overview

The Diploma in Computer Science and Information Technology is a two-year full-time programme that builds foundational theory and practical skills across computing and IT. It aims to prepare graduates to operate in multi-tasking, multi-programming environments, develop application software, design and implement computer solutions, and manage networked IT infrastructure.

• Direct entry: One principal pass at A’ Level plus one subsidiary pass and at least five credit passes at O’ Level or equivalent.
• Certificate entry: A relevant certificate in Computer Science or IT from a recognized institution.
• Mature age entry: Minimum 25 years old with a passed mature age examination from an NCHE-recognized centre.
• Upgrading from certificate: Holders of a two-year certificate in Computer Science or IT from a recognized academic institution may upgrade to this diploma.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared to work as IT professionals in roles that require programming, network administration, database support and basic cybersecurity awareness. The diploma also provides a route for further study in computer science and related disciplines.
