A three-year career-oriented program that teaches programming for mobile and web apps, games, device and network configuration, and data-driven problem solving. Suited to students who want hands-on software development experience, team project practice and an industry internship before entering the workforce or continuing to university.

What you'll study

The curriculum trains students to build mobile and web applications and games, configure devices and networks, and use data to address problems. Core learning includes comprehensive programming instruction in industry-standard languages, teamwork through recurring project work, and a 300-hour supervised internship.

Entry requirements

In addition to college-wide admission criteria, applicants must have one of the following math courses: TS 564-406/426, SN 565-406/426 or CST 563-504. Students from the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board's Adult Education sector (DVS/DCS) should inquire about possible additional requirements.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for roles in software and game development, data analytics, cybersecurity, database administration, network administration, web development and technical support. The program also prepares students for further university studies in areas such as Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering and Game Development.
