Programme overview

The Master of Science in Biology at Fontbonne builds on undergraduate biological foundations to develop stronger experimental-design and data-analysis skills. Instruction is delivered by faculty with industry and research experience, and students complete research projects in Fontbonne laboratories or with partner organizations.

What you'll study

Coursework and training emphasize experimental design, data analysis, and practical research skills. Students have opportunities to carry out their research at Fontbonne facilities or with partner institutions, including the Saint Louis Zoo, the Missouri Department of Conservation, and the Missouri Botanical Garden. The program also offers small class sizes to support hands-on mentoring.

Entry requirements

Standard graduate admission information is available through Fontbonne admissions; the program additionally offers an Accelerated Path for current undergraduates. Accelerated applicants may apply as early as the first semester of junior year but typically apply in the third semester before completing the bachelor’s degree and must have at least one full semester remaining when admitted. Candidates for the Accelerated Path must have completed at least 12 credit hours in their undergraduate major by admission and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 overall and a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher in all BIO/ONE courses.
