What you'll study

Students study foundational public health concepts, behaviour change theories, community assessment and program planning approaches. Instruction typically covers health communication, epidemiology basics, ethics in public health, methods for evaluating interventions, and cultural competence. Practical learning often includes applied projects, community partnerships or fieldwork to practice assessment, planning and evaluation in real-world settings.

Entry requirements

Admissions normally require a high school diploma or equivalent and submission of standard application materials. Programs look for evidence of academic readiness and interest in health, such as relevant coursework, volunteer experience, or work in community or health settings. Transfer applicants should review credit-equivalency and prerequisite expectations for core public health coursework.

Career prospects
