What you'll study

The curriculum comprises six graduate courses that cover practical and theoretical areas of digital literacy and instructional technology. Courses listed in the program are:

Successful completion should result in broadened field perspective, deeper hardware and software skills, the ability to articulate ethical digital citizenship, and competence in aligning technology to individual learner needs and community-level systems solutions.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have a baccalaureate or graduate degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education and CHEA, with original transcripts sent directly to Indiana Wesleyan University. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 is required from the baccalaureate institution where at least 30 credit hours were completed. Note that candidates must already be credentialed to teach technology and digital literacy in P–12 schools and/or community colleges; the certificate will not lead to initial or advanced state licensure in those areas.

Graduates commonly pursue or enhance roles that involve teaching and supporting technology learning, including P–12 classroom technology/digital literacy teacher, adjunct community college professor in technology/digital literacy, education service agency specialist, or technology-related roles across various industries where instructional technology and digital literacy expertise are needed.
