Programme overview

Marietta College's Actuarial Science major is a liberal-arts–based undergraduate programme that blends mathematics with business, economics, finance and computer science to prepare students for professional actuarial work and graduate study. Small class sizes and close faculty relationships are emphasised, and faculty provide one-on-one guidance for professional exam preparation.

What you'll study

The curriculum covers advanced mathematics alongside accounting, economics, business and computer science subjects so students gain both quantitative and applied financial skills. A portion of the programme is expressly devoted to preparing students for the first two Society of Actuaries exams: Exam P (probability) and Exam FM (financial mathematics). Marietta encourages experiential learning and internships once students pass Exam P.
