Programme overview

This Degree Programme in Nursing leads to a Bachelor of Health Care (Sairaanhoitaja AMK) and has an extent of 210 ECTS credits, completed over 3.5 years. Teaching mixes contact teaching and web‑based study, independent work, pair and group activities, simulation and skills sessions. Clinical placements are integrated throughout the programme and may be located around Finland; student exchange abroad is possible.

What you'll study

Coursework and practice emphasise clinical nursing skills, simulated procedures and workplace learning. Study modes include on‑campus and online instruction, independent study, partner work and diverse group assignments. Attendance is required for simulation, procedural and other practical training sessions, and practical placements occur in all stages of the programme.

Entry requirements

Eligibility follows Finnish legislation for UAS degrees and includes completion of an accepted upper secondary or equivalent qualification (examples listed include Finnish matriculation, IB, European Baccalaureate, Reifeprüfung/DIA, certain vocational qualifications or foreign qualifications that confer higher education access). Prior study must be completed by the application deadline. Applicants must also demonstrate required English language competence via previous studies or a test per the spring joint application requirement. Health and functional capacity suitable for the profession is required.

Selection for this supplemental intake is by an on‑campus entrance examination conducted in English (maximum three hours). Exam areas are English language skills, logical reasoning, mathematical skills, ethical skills and emotional intelligence. The test cannot be taken online; photo ID and writing tools are required. Applicants needing individual arrangements (for disability, illness, dyslexia, etc.) must submit an electronic request with supporting documentation by the stated deadline.
