What you’ll study

Throughout the three‑year programme students engage in continuous simulation and hands‑on practice, supported by personal tutoring and group work. The first year covers fundamental nursing and gerontological care, with Finnish language integrated into clinical hours and additional health‑science subjects. The second year deepens core clinical knowledge in internal medicine, surgical, chronic, peri‑operative and family care, and culminates in acute, critical, open and mental‑health care skills, leadership principles, clinical assessment and advanced decision‑making. Optional Finnish language courses and a 12‑week internship further strengthen professional readiness.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have completed secondary education and meet the language requirements for study in Finnish; non‑Finnish speakers receive an intensive Finnish language course to prepare them for clinical placements.

Career prospects

Graduates qualify as EU‑directed nurses and can work in primary, specialised or long‑term care settings. The programme equips them for roles that demand independent decision‑making, team leadership, and the ability to adapt to evolving health‑care technologies and patient needs.
