What you'll study

The master’s curriculum provides a foundation in contemporary psychological theory, research methods and statistical analysis, while allowing for applied experience through practicum or a research thesis/capstone. Core topics commonly covered include research design, advanced statistics, cognitive and social psychology, developmental and abnormal psychology, and ethical issues in practice.

• Research methods & statistics: advanced quantitative and qualitative methods, multivariate analysis, programme evaluation and scientific writing.

Entry requirements

Applicants are typically expected to hold a recognised bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related discipline. Candidates with degrees in other fields may be considered if they demonstrate relevant coursework, research experience or professional experience in settings related to psychology.

• Academic record: a satisfactory undergraduate GPA and evidence of ability to undertake graduate-level study.
• Transcripts & references: official academic transcripts and at least two academic or professional references.
• Personal statement: a statement of purpose outlining academic interests, professional goals and reasons for choosing Pace.
• Additional materials: some applicants may be asked for a CV/resume, writing sample or to attend an interview. Requirements such as the GRE, and any language-proficiency tests for international students, vary by intake and should be confirmed with the department.
