What you'll study

This programme blends core business courses with technical and applied information systems subjects. You study accounting, finance and management principles alongside modules in systems analysis, database design, business programming, networking fundamentals and information security. Course work emphasises practical problem-solving through case studies, labs and team projects.

• Core business foundations: principles of management, marketing, finance and organisational behaviour that provide context for technology decisions.
• Information systems and technology: systems analysis and design, database management, enterprise systems, web and mobile application development, and IT infrastructure.
• Data and analytics: introductory statistics, data visualisation and business intelligence tools to support decision-making.
• Cybersecurity and governance: basics of information security, privacy and IT governance relevant to organisational risk management.
• Integrative experiences: project-based courses and a capstone or practicum in which student teams develop solutions for real organisations or conduct applied research.

Students may also combine MIS coursework with electives or minors in computer science, entrepreneurship, supply chain management or healthcare to tailor their degree to specific industries.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold a secondary-school qualification equivalent to a US high school diploma. Successful candidates typically demonstrate strong preparation in mathematics; prior coursework or familiarity with computer science or programming is advantageous but not always required. Typical application materials include transcripts, a personal statement, and any required test scores or English language proficiency evidence for international applicants. Transfer applicants submit college transcripts and may receive credit for relevant prior coursework.
