What you'll study

The programme balances core science and public-health concepts with practical, applied training. Typical modules cover human anatomy and physiology, fundamentals of public health and epidemiology, health systems and policy, medical ethics, and health promotion. Research methods and statistics for health professions are included alongside coursework in health informatics, quality improvement, and social determinants of health.

Students also complete experiential components: a supervised practicum or internship in a community health, clinical or administrative setting and a capstone project that integrates coursework with real-world problem solving. Elective options allow specialisation in areas such as chronic disease management, substance-use prevention, ageing and long-term care, or global health.

• Secondary school completion (high school diploma or equivalent) with official transcripts.
• Academic preparation typically includes coursework in biology and mathematics; evidence of successful performance in these subjects is helpful.

• Letters of recommendation are usually optional but recommended for applicants with limited academic records.

• Transfer applicants should supply college transcripts; prior community-college credits in allied health or sciences may be considered for transfer.

Common job titles include health services coordinator, medical office manager, case manager, community health worker, health educator, patient access specialist and care coordinator. The degree also provides a solid foundation for further professional training—graduates frequently pursue advanced study in public health, nursing, occupational therapy, physician assistant programmes, social work or health administration.
