What you'll study

The CCAP curriculum combines core coursework in psychological science with applied clinical training. Typical modules cover psychopathology and diagnostic formulation, psychological assessment and testing, evidence-based psychotherapies (such as cognitive-behavioural and interpersonal approaches), developmental and lifespan psychology, and multicultural/diversity issues in clinical practice.

Research and methods are emphasised through courses in research design, statistics and programme evaluation, often paired with opportunities to participate in faculty-led research projects. A central feature of the programme is supervised practicum placement(s) in community clinics, hospitals, schools or counselling centres where students gain direct client contact and clinical supervision.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in psychology or a closely related discipline. Academic preparation in introductory psychology, research methods and statistics is typically required or must be completed before enrolling in certain advanced courses.

Admission materials generally include a personal statement outlining professional goals and clinical interests, academic transcripts, letters of recommendation (often two or three), and a current resume or CV. Some applicants may be invited to an interview. International applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency according to the university’s published requirements.
