What you'll study

This programme combines advanced study of pedagogy with applied coursework in curriculum, assessment and professional learning tailored to specific age ranges or subject-methods. Students follow a core of research and leadership modules and choose level- or method-specific pathways (such as elementary literacy, secondary content methods, special education methods, or English as an additional language).

• Foundations of Teacher Learning and Professional Development — theories of adult learning, coaching models, and design of sustained professional learning.
• Curriculum Design and Differentiation — backwards design, standards alignment, and strategies for differentiating instruction across levels.
• Assessment for Learning — formative and summative assessment practices, data-informed instruction and progress monitoring.
• Specific Levels and Methods Seminar — focused study in an area such as elementary literacy methods, secondary content-area pedagogy, special education instructional methods, or TESOL/ELL approaches.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and demonstrate successful prior study. Current teaching certification or active classroom experience is strongly preferred for practice-focused pathways.
