What you'll study

The programme combines core coursework in modern biological principles with hands‑on laboratory experience and an independent research project or practicum. Typical subjects include cellular and molecular biology, genetics, ecology and evolution, biostatistics, experimental design, and advanced laboratory techniques such as microscopy, molecular cloning, PCR and data analysis. Elective options commonly allow specialisation in areas such as molecular biology, ecology and conservation, microbiology, or biotechnology.

Students normally complete a mixture of required core courses, electives and a culminating experience. The culminating experience may be a supervised research thesis, a laboratory practicum, or an applied project in collaboration with faculty or external partners. Entry requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in biology, biomedical sciences, environmental science or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• A record of undergraduate coursework in foundational biological science and laboratory experience; specific prerequisite courses often include cell biology, genetics, ecology and introductory chemistry.
• Academic transcripts and at least one academic or professional reference. A personal statement outlining research interests and career goals is typically required.
• International applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency through an accepted test or equivalent documentation where required.
• Applicants with relevant professional experience but without a typical academic background may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis; additional preparatory coursework can be recommended.
