What you'll study

The master's programme builds advanced competencies across three specialisations: Nursing Administration, Nursing Research and Clinical Nursing. Students complete core graduate-level nursing coursework before focusing on their chosen pathway. • Nursing Research: Research Design and Methods, Advanced Statistics for Nursing, Qualitative Methods, Grant Writing and Dissemination, Research practicum and a supervised thesis or capstone research project.
• Clinical Nursing: Advanced Health Assessment, Clinical Decision-Making, Specialty-focused practicum (medical-surgical, critical care, community health or other clinical tracks), Advanced Therapeutics and Care Coordination, clinical simulation and supervised clinical hours.
• Structure: The programme typically comprises core credits plus specialisation credits culminating in a practicum, capstone project or thesis. Delivery may include on-campus, blended and online components depending on the course and campus.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an accredited institution and be a licensed registered nurse in Puerto Rico or in a recognised US jurisdiction. Typical requirements include:

• A valid RN licence or evidence of eligibility for licensure.
• Undergraduate degree in nursing with a satisfactory academic record; programmes commonly expect a minimum cumulative GPA (the exact threshold is set by the admissions office).
• Clinical experience: one to two years of professional nursing practice is usually recommended, particularly for clinical and administration tracks.
• Supporting documents: official transcripts, a current curriculum vitae or resume, a personal statement or statement of purpose outlining professional goals and the chosen specialisation, and letters of recommendation (often two).
