What you'll study

This master's combines studio work, technical knowledge and theory to train designers who can conceive, develop and realise interior and spatial projects. Core elements include advanced design studios focused on residential, commercial, cultural and public interiors; projects that integrate material research, detailing and furniture design; and modules on digital modelling, parametric design and digital fabrication.

• Design studios – iterative projects that move from concept to detailed proposals and full-scale mock-ups.
• Materials and construction – hands-on study of materials, joinery, detailing, building regulations and constructive solutions.
• Digital methods – CAD, BIM workflows, parametric modelling and digital fabrication techniques (CNC, laser cutting, 3D printing).
• History and theory – spatial theory, contemporary debates in interior architecture and critical reflection on practice.
• Professional practice – project management, client communication, contract documentation and ethics of design.
• Research methods and master’s thesis/project – a substantial individual research or design project that demonstrates synthesis of theory and practice.

Teaching is delivered through a mix of seminars, supervised studio time, workshops in equipped fabrication labs, site visits and collaborations with industry or cultural partners. Assessment typically combines project portfolios, technical dossiers, presentations and a final thesis or design project.

Entry requirements

• A recognised bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture, Architecture, Product Design or a closely related discipline; applicants with equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• A design portfolio demonstrating conceptual work, technical drawings, completed projects and evidence of making or material exploration.
• A curriculum vitae and a motivation letter outlining your reasons for applying and areas of interest.
• Evidence of proficiency in the language of instruction as required by the programme (consult the programme page for the specific language requirements and accepted tests or certificates).
• Some applicants may be invited for an interview (in person or online) or asked to submit a short project or preparatory task.
