What you'll study

The programme combines advanced study of pedagogy, curriculum design, assessment and educational research with applied practicum or capstone experiences. Typical course topics include instructional planning and differentiated instruction, classroom assessment and data-informed decision making, curriculum theory and development, classroom management, inclusive practices for diverse learners, and literacy development.

Students choose a focus or concentration in areas such as curriculum and instruction, special education, literacy/reading, educational leadership or teaching English to speakers of other languages. Coursework emphasises evidence-based practice and often includes a supervised field component, action research or a final project that addresses a real-world classroom or school need.

• A recognised bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Evidence of professional preparation in education for certification-track concentrations; non-certified candidates may be eligible for certain routes or endorsements depending on the focus.
• Official academic transcripts and a statement of purpose outlining professional goals and reasons for pursuing graduate study.
• Letters of recommendation and a current résumé or CV; some specialisms may require documentation of teaching experience.
