What you'll study

The programme combines core modules in sustainability theory and practice with applied analytics, management and policy subjects. Teaching emphasises real-world problem solving through case studies, industry projects and a capstone or practicum.

• Core modules: sustainability foundations and systems thinking; climate change and environmental science for decision‑makers; sustainability strategy and leadership; sustainable finance and ESG investing.
• Analytical skills: quantitative methods for sustainability, data analytics for environmental and social indicators, life cycle assessment, carbon accounting and reporting frameworks (GHG inventories, TCFD/CSRD concepts).
• Management and policy: sustainable supply chains, circular economy, corporate social responsibility and stakeholder engagement, public policy and regulation for sustainability.
• Electives and special topics: urban sustainability and smart cities, renewable energy and transition planning, social enterprise and impact measurement, climate risk and adaptation.
• Experiential learning: industry project or consultancy placement addressing a live sustainability challenge for a corporate, NGO or government partner; interdisciplinary capstone synthesising technical, managerial and policy perspectives.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a good bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Relevant postgraduate qualifications or professional experience in sustainability, business, engineering, public policy, environmental science or related fields strengthen an application.

• Academic transcripts and certified copies of qualifications.
• Curriculum vitae demonstrating academic background and/or professional experience; many successful applicants have several years of work experience, though recent graduates with strong academic records are also considered.
• Statement of purpose explaining motivations, career goals and how the programme aligns with those goals.
• References (academic or professional) and an interview for shortlisted candidates.
• English language proficiency requirements for applicants whose first language is not English (accepted tests include IELTS or TOEFL equivalents).
• Standardised test scores (e.g. GMAT/GRE) may be requested in some cases depending on academic background, but are not universally required; check the programme guidance and speak with admissions if unsure.
