The B.BRM curriculum combines foundational life sciences with applied courses in resource management, economics and policy. • Major options and specialisations: students select a major stream that may include areas such as environmental management, food and agricultural business, equine management, or other bio-resource concentrations that integrate technical and managerial training.
• Experiential learning: the programme incorporates laboratory work, field courses at Guelph’s research farms and stations, case studies, and opportunities for co-op placements, internships or an applied capstone project.
• Research and honours pathways: students interested in research can undertake independent projects with faculty, and some pathways prepare students for honours-level study or postgraduate programs.

Entry requirements

Admission typically requires a secondary school diploma with strong preparation in science and mathematics. Typical prerequisites include English and at least two of biology, chemistry and mathematics (functions or equivalent). Applicants are assessed on academic performance and the strength of their science background.

• Mature applicants and those with college diplomas may be eligible for admission through alternative pathways; supporting documentation of relevant coursework or experience is considered.
