What you'll study

The programme covers foundational biomedical sciences and progressively specialised podiatric content, integrating classroom learning with clinical practice. Core study areas include anatomy and physiology of the lower limb, biomechanics and gait analysis, musculoskeletal assessment and management, dermatology and wound care, diabetic foot health, paediatric and geriatric podiatry, pharmacology relevant to podiatric practice, and radiography interpretation for the foot and ankle.

Practical and clinical skills are developed through supervised on-campus clinics, simulation work and multiple external placements in community, hospital and private practice settings. The honours component requires a supervised research project or dissertation, teaching research methods and evidence-based practice to prepare graduates for clinical decision-making and potential further research or higher degree study.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to have completed senior secondary education with sound achievement in science subjects (for example, biology or chemistry) or an equivalent tertiary pathway. Selection typically considers academic performance, relevant prior study or experience, and may include screening such as an interview or written task. Mature‑age applicants and those with completed diplomas or degrees in allied health fields are also encouraged to apply where they meet the academic prerequisites.
