What you'll study

The programme combines advanced technical subjects, engineering design and professional skills. Core topics typically cover advanced engineering design and analysis, systems engineering, project and risk management, research methods and professional practice. Depending on the chosen specialisation or elective pathway you may study subjects such as advanced structural analysis, fluid and thermofluid systems, embedded systems and controls, geotechnical and mining engineering, materials and failure analysis, computational modelling and simulation, and sustainable engineering.

Entry requirements

• A recognised bachelor degree in engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution; applicants with an engineering degree plus relevant professional experience are considered.
• Applicants with other science, technology or allied qualifications and substantial relevant industry experience may be eligible for admission or for a pathway into the programme; such applicants may be required to complete specified prerequisites.
• Demonstrated English proficiency if your prior qualification was not taught in English (evidence such as IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent as per university policy).
• Some applicants may be asked to provide a curriculum vitae, professional references and a statement outlining work experience and reasons for undertaking the degree; entry is subject to satisfactory assessment of academic and professional background.
