What you'll study

The programme combines core modules that build a foundation in contemporary management thinking with applied and optional modules that allow you to tailor your studies to career goals. Teaching typically covers organisational behaviour, strategy, marketing and operations alongside quantitative and qualitative research methods. You will also complete a substantial dissertation or applied research project which asks you to investigate a real managerial issue or evaluate a business intervention.

• Optional modules (examples): International Management; Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Human Resource Management; Project Management; Business Analytics; Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.
• Teaching and assessment: A mix of seminars, case studies, workshops and lectures, with assessment by essays, group projects, presentations, exams and a final dissertation or consultancy-style project.
• Structure: The programme is delivered over taught modules followed by an individual research/dissertation stage, designed to develop applied skills and independent research capability.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a UK undergraduate degree (2:1 or equivalent) in any subject. Candidates with a lower second-class degree plus relevant work experience, or a professional qualification, may also be considered. International applicants should demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent to common postgraduate requirements (for example, an overall IELTS score commonly at or around mid‑6.0s with minimum component scores), or an approved alternative qualification. All applicants must submit a personal statement; referee reports and an interview may be requested for some candidates.
