This coursework master's develops knowledge and skills in leadership, governance, finance, quality and safety, human resources and strategy as they apply to contemporary health services. Core topics typically include leadership and change management in healthcare, health systems and policy, healthcare finance and budgeting, quality improvement and patient safety, health workforce planning, health law and ethics, and information management and clinical informatics.

Learning is delivered through online lectures, case studies, discussion forums and applied assessments. The degree commonly includes a capstone or major applied project that requires you to diagnose a service or system problem and design an evidence‑based implementation plan. Elective options allow specialisation in areas such as clinical leadership, population health, digital health or health policy depending on availability.

Entry requirements

• A recognised undergraduate degree in a health or related discipline, or equivalent professional qualifications; or a relevant bachelor degree plus substantial professional experience in a health setting.
• Relevant work experience in healthcare or health administration is highly recommended and may be required for some entry pathways.
• Applicants whose first language is not English will need to meet Australian Catholic University's English language proficiency requirements (for example an accepted IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent qualification).
