What you'll study

This MSc combines taught modules and a supervised research thesis to give both theoretical depth and practical laboratory experience in pharmacology. Teaching typically covers drug-receptor interactions, cellular and molecular pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and contemporary topics such as pharmacogenomics and drug development.

Entry requirements

Admission is usually offered to applicants who hold a good bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, medicine, biomedical sciences, or a closely related discipline. Typical requirements include:

• A relevant undergraduate degree with a competitive grade/classification from a recognised university.
• Transcripts and a statement of purpose outlining research interests.
• Letters of academic or professional reference.
• Successful performance in any departmental interview or assessment, where required.
• Proficiency in English is expected for students taught or assessed in English; applicants may need to demonstrate language ability through recognised tests or prior study where applicable.
