What you'll study

The program requires 61 credits minimum and combines language, social science, management, behavioural science and elective courses. Core course areas include workplace communications, organizational communications, principles of management and human resource management, quantitative methods or introductory statistics, project management, introductory psychology sequence, research methods, organizational behaviour, applied behavioural psychology and courses addressing personal adjustment and safety management.

• Behavioral Sciences (18 credits): PSYC101 Introduction to Psychology I; PSYC102 Introduction to Psychology II; PSYC201 Research Methods in Psychology; PSYC223 Psychology of Personal Adjustment; PSYC224 Organizational Behavior; PSYC250 Introduction to Applied Behavioural Psychology (each 3.0)
• Electives (15 credits): approved electives include CPSC101, MGMT150, MGMT301, MGMT302, MGMT430, PSYC212, PSYC221, PSYC230, SOWK200, SOWK201 (3.0 credits each). Other electives may be approved with the Chair.

Entry requirements

Applicants need a minimum three‑year degree in Psychology, Business Management, Social Work, Human Services, Nursing, Health Studies or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. English proficiency requirements depend on origin: domestic students from Standard Written English jurisdictions must show a C grade or higher in specified secondary or university English courses or complete the NLC Writing Assessment; other applicants follow NLC's General Academic English Language Proficiency Requirements. A math requirement at C (60%) includes Pre‑calculus 11, Principles of Mathematics 11/Foundations of Math 11, MATH 040, or readiness for MATH 050 via appraisal. Meeting entrance criteria does not guarantee all course prerequisites have been satisfied.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for roles in consulting, workplace psychology, talent management, research and academia, data analysis, diversity and inclusion specializations, and workplace wellness initiatives. The program develops knowledge to improve individual, group and organizational effectiveness and to support therapeutic workplace interventions.
