What you'll study

Students complete required conservation psychology courses taken from Antioch University New England’s Environmental Studies MS curriculum. Instruction covers conservation psychology tools and approaches and builds skills in areas such as conservation biology or climate and environmental science research, environmental communication, cultural competence and program evaluation. Course delivery includes virtual synchronous sessions (evenings or weekends), asynchronous elements, in-person options and field-based intensives.

Entry requirements

Apply via the online admissions application and submit a resume/CV, official transcripts from all prior institutions and a non-refundable $50 application fee. Transcripts may be emailed or mailed to the Office of Admissions. Master’s and certificate applicants are not required to submit GRE or other standardized test scores. Deadlines vary by term (Summer: April 15; Fall: July 15; Spring: December 1). Additional requirements apply for international applicants and for applicants without a bachelor’s degree.

Career prospects

Graduates find work across many areas of environmental practice, including private consulting, regulatory agencies, conservation organizations, formal and informal education, government, advocacy groups and the arts. The certificate augments scientific or program-focused roles with skills in public engagement, evaluation and culturally competent communication.
