An applied associate program that combines visual design, front-end development and digital media production to create responsive websites and web applications. The program comprises 48 credits of discipline core work and 15 credits of general education. Core and workshop courses include:
General education includes ENGL 1010 Introduction to Academic Writing, a math/statistics course (options listed in the catalog), one humanities or fine arts course, one social/behavioral course, and one biology or physical science course. Program learning outcomes emphasize semantic HTML5 markup, mobile-first responsive design with media queries, single-page app development with JavaScript, user-experience strategies that drive calls-to-action, UI/interaction design across platforms, production of video/audio/photo/text assets, and effective team contribution.
Graduation requires completion of a minimum of 63 semester credits, at least 20 residency credit hours through course attendance at UVU, an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher, and successful completion of the GE and departmental requirements. Placement in Math and English may affect the individual plan of study; students are advised to consult departmental advisors and Wolverine Track for an individualized plan.
