What you'll study

Coursework and experiences emphasize nursing theory drawn from other sciences and nursing research and cover human responses to health and illness across the lifespan. The program includes sequential nursing courses (regular and extended track advising sheets are provided for spring and fall terms), clinical practica and preparation for the RN licensing exam. Program outcomes published by CSN show first-time NCLEX-RN pass rates and aggregated job placement and completion data for recent cohorts.

Entry requirements

The ADN is a Limited Entry program; applicants must submit a Limited Entry application by the stated deadline and complete all prerequisites by the completion deadline to be considered. Required elements and documentation include:

• TEAS assessment scores (scores older than five years are not considered; scores from other institutions must be officially transferred and an unofficial copy included in the application packet).
• Demonstration of English language proficiency per the program's published requirements.
• Health documentation for accepted students: CPR certification, health insurance, immunizations (Hepatitis B; Measles, Mumps, Rubella; Tetanus, Diphtheria), proof of negative TB test and a physical examination.
• Background check, evidence of non-infectivity for tuberculosis, and health-care experience documentation when requested.
• Ability to meet the program's Essential Functions of Nursing Students; applicants with documented accommodation needs should contact the Disability Resources Center.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for RN roles in diverse settings listed by the program: hospitals, clinics, physicians' offices, home health, schools, public health, military and federal positions, long-term care, managed care and rehabilitation/subacute facilities.
