20 Programs 1 Degree levels

A research-focused MSc in Computer Engineering taught in English, designed for graduates of four-year engineering degrees who want advanced theoretical and practical training in computing systems, information analysis and architecture. It suits applicants aiming to conduct original research or take technical leadership roles and who can complete preparatory coursework within two semesters if required.

What you'll study

The curriculum requires completion of at least seven credit courses, one non-credit Research Seminar (CSE 590) and a non-credit thesis. Core items include the compulsory Research Methodologies course and CSE 590; ESYE 501 is listed among core courses. All credit courses are 3 credits each and the program total is 21 credits and 120 ECTS. Students choose four elective courses (at least four must be CSE XXX courses) and may take up to two undergraduate 300/400 level courses for graduate credit if not previously counted toward their bachelor degree. Up to two courses may be taken from other departments or institutions with advisor approval. The thesis supervisor must be assigned by the end of the second semester; thesis registration follows successful completion of the credit course requirements. The Research Seminar may be taken alongside the thesis course.

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a four-year Bachelor of Science in any engineering field. Candidates may be required to take preliminary courses and must be able to complete those within two semesters. Minimum academic and assessment requirements listed are: a BSc GPA of at least 2.25/4.00, an ALES score of at least 60, and proof of English proficiency (TOEFL ≥ 80 or KPDS ≥ 80). Applications are submitted to the Institute of Science and Engineering within announced dates and must include an application form, copy of undergraduate certificate, transcript, two reference letters (with reference form) and the exam/proficiency scores.

Career prospects

Graduates are expected to be researchers and technically capable engineers with the ability to define and formulate problems, design complex systems, and perform theoretical, experimental and model-based investigations. The degree is aimed at those pursuing research careers, doctoral study, or advanced engineering roles that require strong analytical, design and interdisciplinary skills.

Scholarships & funding angle

The programme description does not list specific scholarships. Prospective students should enquire with the university’s Institute of Science and Engineering about available scholarships, assistantships, or tuition support and about policies for thesis supervision and timelines for funding eligibility.
