What you'll study

The degree comprises 39 courses in total: 29 major courses focused on special education and 10 Compass Core courses. Coursework emphasizes creating effective, appropriate teaching strategies for diverse disabilities and fostering classroom environments where students feel safe, respected and valued. Students complete fieldwork hours that are incorporated into individual courses; the number and timing of those hours vary by course. The program ends with a 12-week student teaching experience as specified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Applicants must submit a (free) application for admission and request official transcripts from all current and previous institutions to be sent directly to the Carlow University Office of Admissions.
