• Advanced Architectural Design sequence: ARC 5352 (Advanced Architectural Design 5.1) and ARC 5353 (Advanced Architectural Design 5.2) — studio courses worth 6 credit hours each.

Entry requirements

Applicants must submit the university application and official transcripts from all prior colleges. University minimum: a 2.75 cumulative GPA (4.0 scale) covering the last 60 semester hours. Because the program is a limited‑access professional degree, SAET requires either a FAMU Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies or a 4‑year architecture degree from Florida’s State University System for entry into the professional B.Arch. Applicants must also pass a portfolio review, submit a résumé, and provide a statement of intent. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions manages the online application; materials should arrive by the university deadline. Applications received after February 1 are accepted but may not receive priority consideration; admission decisions are typically issued by the end of February and may be admission, waitlist, or denial.

Career prospects

The program’s primary mission is to prepare graduates for architectural practice. Because the B.Arch. is a professional NAAB‑accredited degree, it provides the educational credentials typically required to pursue licensure as a registered, practicing architect. Preparation centers on design studio experience (urban and comprehensive building design), practice coursework, programming, and building technology.
