Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a baccalaureate or graduate degree from an institution accredited by a U.S. Department of Education and CHEA-recognized agency, verified by official transcripts sent directly to Indiana Wesleyan University. Candidates need either a biology major or state certification to teach biology at the secondary level, an undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 from the degree-granting institution (with at least 30 hours completed there), and at least one year of teaching experience (minimum one semester and one day) in an approved P–12 school. Applicants must also have a valid (not necessarily current) teacher license with biology/life science endorsement, an equivalent recognized certificate, or an official administrator letter confirming employment as a teacher of record, plus documentation demonstrating access to a P–12 classroom (preferably secondary biology).
