This programme combines core business principles with agriculture-specific applications. Typical topics include agricultural economics, agribusiness marketing and supply chains, farm and agribusiness financial management, commodity and futures markets, risk management and insurance, agricultural policy and law, and quantitative methods for farm management. Students also study data analysis applied to agriculture, strategic management for agribusiness, and sustainability and resource management in production systems.

Most students choose between a thesis (research) option and a non-thesis option. The thesis route emphasises original research supervised by faculty and is suitable for students considering doctoral study or research careers. The non-thesis route typically includes a capstone project or practicum with applied research, case studies and industry engagement. Coursework is delivered through lectures, case work, applied projects and opportunities for field visits to farms and agribusiness operations.

Entry requirements

• Academic background: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in agriculture, agricultural business, economics, finance, business administration or a related discipline.
• Transcripts: Official undergraduate transcripts demonstrating readiness for graduate-level study.
• Letters of recommendation: Typically two or three academic or professional references who can speak to your potential for graduate study.
• Statement of purpose: A personal statement outlining your academic and professional goals and how the programme supports them.
• Standardised tests: Some applicants may be asked to submit GRE scores, but requirements can vary by applicant profile and prior academic preparation.
