What you'll study

This three-year bachelor programme combines modules from management, political science, law, economics and communication to build a rounded understanding of how organisations relate to their stakeholders and operate within institutional environments. Core study areas include organisational theory, public administration, regulatory frameworks, stakeholder analysis, public policy processes and strategic communication.

• Year 1 — Foundations in economics, basics of public law, introduction to organisational behaviour, quantitative methods for social sciences, and communication skills.
• Year 2 — Deeper work on public administration and governance, regulatory systems, stakeholder mapping and engagement, research methods, and elective courses such as comparative institutions or digital public communication.
• Year 3 — Advanced topics in institutional management, public-private partnerships, negotiation and mediation, project work or internship placement, and a final bachelor thesis or capstone project focused on a real-world stakeholder challenge.

Teaching formats include lectures, seminars, case studies, group projects and supervised internships. Practical training covers stakeholder analysis tools, policy impact assessment, lobbying regulation, corporate social responsibility (CSR) approaches and risk communication. Students may also have opportunities to take language modules and short courses in data analysis for policy.

Entry requirements

Applicants normally need a recognised secondary school leaving qualification (for example an Italian Diploma di Maturità or an international equivalent such as the International Baccalaureate). Selection criteria typically include academic records and any required entrance testing or interview as specified by the university. International applicants are expected to demonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction; programmes at the University of Milan may be offered in Italian, with some courses or modules in English, so evidence of Italian language competence may be required unless enrolling on a programme explicitly taught in English.
