What you'll study

The MSc Public Health combines core public health disciplines with applied research and practice. You will study the determinants of health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion, health policy and systems, and methods for public health evaluation. Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a UK second-class honours degree (2:1 or 2:2 may be considered depending on experience) or an equivalent qualification in a relevant subject such as health sciences, social sciences, psychology, environmental health, nursing, midwifery or biomedical sciences. Applicants with significant professional experience in health or social care, public sector roles or third-sector public health work may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

• English language: Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency through an approved English language test at a level specified by the university.
• Professional experience: While not always required for the MSc, relevant work experience can strengthen an application, particularly for part-time or practitioner-focused routes.
• Supporting documents: A personal statement outlining public health interests and career goals, academic transcripts and references are normally required. Some applicants may be asked to attend an interview.
