What you'll study

The programme integrates theoretical foundations with applied practice across systems modelling, information management, algorithmic methods and software engineering. Core topics typically include systems analysis and design, databases and information retrieval, distributed systems, modelling and simulation, optimisation methods, and data analytics. Students also study topics in human–computer interaction, security and privacy in information systems, and software project management to address end-to-end system lifecycles.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold a recognised bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or a closely related quantitative discipline. Strong preparation in programming, mathematics (including probability and linear algebra) and basic algorithms is required. Admission decisions consider academic transcripts, letters of recommendation and a statement of purpose outlining research or professional goals.

Relevant professional experience can strengthen an application for candidates from non‑traditional backgrounds. Applicants whose primary language is not English may be asked to demonstrate proficiency in English through an approved test or by other evidence accepted by the faculty.
