An accelerated Master of Science in Exercise & Sport Science with a concentration in Applied Exercise Science and Performance that builds on undergraduate study in Exercise and Sport Science. Suited to students aiming for careers in athletic performance, rehabilitation, coaching or further clinical/research training, it emphasizes laboratory work, community partnerships, and applied research.
The program deepens foundations in human-based sciences, exercise physiology and sports performance while developing practical skills in testing, prescription and coaching. Coursework and activities emphasize lab testing and applied exercise science, human research methods and scientific writing, with opportunities to work in Western’s cutting-edge labs and through community wellness partnerships.
Students follow an accelerated path from the undergraduate Exercise and Sport Science program. After completing prescribed undergraduate coursework, General Education and electives and becoming eligible for the bachelor’s conferral, students must apply to continue into the graduate portion—typically in the fall of their junior year.
