A 48-credit seminary degree combining biblical and theological study with practical training in musical worship leadership. Suited to students called to lead church worship—those already in vocational ministry seeking deeper theological formation or practitioners pursuing specialized training in worship arts and tech.

What you'll study

Coursework combines theology, practical ministry, and performance lab experiences. Example courses and topics from the programme include:

  • PM 6110: History of Christian Worship — surveying worship practice and theology across the biblical and church-historical traditions.
  • PM 6100: Worship Planning & Administration — strategies for planning worship services with attention to theological, relational, and administrative implications.
  • PM 5180: Technology & Media in Ministry — the shifting media landscape and using modern media to communicate the Christian message.
  • PM 6240: Developing Tech Talent — equipping, identifying, cultivating, training, and deploying tech leaders for ministry teams.
  • PM 7001: Music Lab: Performance/Lessons — weekly one-hour performance lab for peer performance, faculty critique, and development across ensembles and worship teams.

Additional emphases include biblical theology of worship, the relationship between personal spirituality and corporate worship, and ministry team development.

Entry requirements

Applicants must normally hold a four-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent for international applicants) from a recognized institution. Official transcripts and a spiritual life reference are required. International students must supply TESOL scores where applicable and a financial certificate showing sufficient funding. Applicants with unaccredited pre-seminary education or a pre-seminary GPA below 2.5 may be admitted on academic restriction. Applicants without a bachelor’s degree may be considered if they meet specified ministry and research/writing requirements; MA applicants may also have non-academic or extended ministry experience requirements—prospective students are encouraged to contact seminary admissions (admissions@grace.edu) for details.
