What you’ll study

The curriculum covers core mechanical engineering topics such as mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing. Emphasis is placed on sustainable product development, lifecycle assessment, and innovative design methods that reduce environmental impact.

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a recognised secondary‑level qualification: Finnish high‑school diploma, International Baccalaureate (IB), European Baccalaureate (EB), Reifeprüfung or Deutsches Internationales Abitur (DIA), or a Finnish vocational qualification of at least 120 study‑weeks. English language proficiency is mandatory and can be proven through prior studies or a separate language test. Selection is based on one of the following routes: International UAS Exam (25 places), SAT (5 places) or certificate selection based on final exam results (10 places).

Career prospects

Graduates can pursue roles such as mechanical design engineer, product development specialist, manufacturing engineer, or sustainability consultant within automotive, aerospace, energy, or consumer goods sectors. The sustainable product development focus also opens opportunities in green technology and circular economy initiatives.
