What you'll study

The program requires 18 semester credits made up of a 15-credit discipline core and a 3-credit elective. Core coursework includes:

• INFO 1200 Computer Programming I for IS/IT (3 credits)
• INFO 2410 Database Fundamentals (3 credits)
• STAT 1040 Introduction to Statistics (3 credits) or MGMT 2340 Business Statistics I
• One college-algebra option (3–5 credits) from MATH 2000, MATH 1050, MATH 1055 or MATH 1090
• INFO 2500 Applied Artificial Intelligence Concepts in Organizations (3 credits)

Elective requirement (3 credits): choose one of INFO 1120 Information Systems and Technology Fundamentals; INFO 2200 Computer Programming II for IS/IT; or IT 1600 Computer Architecture and Systems Software.

Program learning outcomes include analyzing data sets with supervised and unsupervised learning, implementing AI systems for organizational needs, integrating AI with business systems and aligning AI work to business priorities.

Entry requirements

Graduation requires a minimum of 18 semester credits, a minimum grade of C- in all courses, an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher, and at least 5 residency credit hours completed through attendance at UVU. Students are advised to consult the Information Systems and Technology Department and an assigned advisor to confirm individualized placement and transfer credit impact.
