What you'll study

The curriculum is split between Adventist Colleges Abroad (ACA) courses and Andrews University (AU) courses. Students take at least 21 credits of advanced-language ACA courses and a minimum of 12 AU credits.

• ACA courses (21+ credits): advanced grammar sequences (SPAN 351, 352, 353, 451, 452, 453); advanced composition (SPAN 361, 362, 363, 461, 462, 463); advanced conversation (SPAN 371, 372, 373, 471, 472, 473).
• AU courses (12+ credits): IGLS 438 Methods of Foreign Language Instruction: K-12 (3 credits); choose one: SPAN 416 Spanish for Native Speakers (3) or SPAN 420 Advanced Spanish Written and Oral Communication (3); choose one: SPAN 426 Contemporary Spain (Study Tour) (3) or SPAN 436 Spanish-American Culture (Study Tour) (3); choose one: SPAN 447 Spanish for Translation (with lab) (3) or SPAN 449 Spanish for Interpreters (with lab) (3).
• Electives: Spanish major electives selected with an advisor from SPAN/ILGS offerings to reach the 36-credit minimum.
