Programme overview

The PhD in Educational Psychology at Andrews University is a 90-credit doctoral track intended primarily for full-time students and normally completed in four years. The program prepares graduates to assess and consult on program planning and intervention services in preschool and child-development centers, public and private school systems, and to pursue roles as college or university instructors. What you'll study

Coursework and training focus on research, program evaluation, assessment, consultation, and intervention planning appropriate for early childhood and K–12 contexts as well as higher education instruction. Entry requirements

• Master’s degree (or non-U.S. equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum graduate GPA of 3.30 (applicants with lower GPA may be considered based on the composite profile).
• Three recommendations (from advisors, major professors, or employers).
• Resume describing employment, research, or special projects.
• Statement of Purpose addressing philosophical perspective and personal, professional, and academic goals.
• GRE General Test taken within five years is required for doctoral applicants.
• English language proficiency test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic) required if the applicant’s language of education is not English.
• New doctoral students are admitted only for the Fall semester; the application deadline for PhD applicants is July 30.
