A cohort-based, degree-completion BA in Social Welfare delivered fully online and designed for adult learners. Suited to students aiming for entry-level social service roles or further graduate study, the program combines human development, policy, practice and a Christian worldview.

What you'll study

Students complete foundational and advanced coursework in human development, social policy, practice methods and research, plus general education co-requisites. Required social welfare courses (33 units earned at FPU) include:

Entry requirements

Admission is by committee review of academic record, work experience and a personal statement. Applicants must have at least two years of post-secondary experience. Students must earn C- or higher in social welfare courses to receive credit; general education or elective courses may be credited with a D-.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared to pursue entry-level positions in nonprofit and human service settings or to continue into advanced study, subject to the requirements of the graduate institution. The program emphasizes practice skills, policy engagement, research-informed practice and ethical integration of faith in service roles.
