Bircham International University

20 Programs 2 Degree levels

A flexible, textbook-based Bachelor's degree delivered entirely by distance learning and tailored for adult learners and professionals. It suits self-directed students seeking to convert prior learning or professional experience into a full undergraduate credential across a wide range of majors.

What you'll study

The curriculum is entirely textbook-based and adjusted to the student’s objectives. Students acquire comprehensive knowledge in their chosen major and are expected to demonstrate mastery across subjects related to that major. Study outcomes are assessed by written work: the final examination component consists of producing several reports of around 20 to 35 pages each based on assigned textbooks. Bircham offers more than 270 majors across faculties such as Arts & Humanities, Business & Media, Computer Science, Engineering & Technology, Life & Earth Sciences, Natural Health Science, and Psychology.

Entry requirements

Admission is open to adults over 23 years of age. A Bachelor's degree requires 130 credits above secondary school. Credits from prior education and validated professional experience may be transferred to reduce requirements and duration. At least 30% of the total credits required by any programme must be transferred from previous education and/or validated from professional experience to gain admission; up to 20% of credits may be credited from professional and life experience. General education minimum requirements are 40 credits, and a minimum transfer of 40 credits from previous education should be accounted as equivalent general education credits. Programme duration typically ranges from 1 to 3 years.

Career prospects

Because the degree can be completed in a wide variety of majors, career outcomes depend on the chosen field of study. The programme aims to provide comprehensive subject knowledge and practical preparation for professional roles related to each major; transferring prior credits and professional experience can shorten time to credential. Prospective students should match their chosen major to intended occupational paths and local professional or licensing requirements.
