What you'll study

Students immerse themselves in two foreign languages chosen from Spanish, Italian, German, Russian or Mandarin, alongside focused musical practice. The music component emphasizes instrument or voice development, frequent performances, and theory/ear training. The program pairs language coursework with music practice and related theoretical study to prepare for a variety of university paths.

Entry requirements

In addition to college‑wide admissions criteria, applicants must audition on their principal instrument or voice and complete an entrance exam in theory and ear training. Music 502 (or cégep equivalent 551‑004‑VA), or equivalent recognized training in music theory and practice, is recommended but not mandatory.

Career prospects

Graduates commonly proceed to university studies in disciplines such as Communications, Linguistics, Literature, Political Science, Law and Tourism, or choose music‑related university programs in performance, composition, teaching, music therapy, musicology and music theory. The double diploma keeps options open across humanities, social sciences and professional music careers.
