What you'll study

Teaching mixes hands-on sessions in the workshop with classroom theory. Students will deepen practical competence in restoring vehicle bodies and applying finishes using industry techniques and equipment. Units studied include:

• Health and Safety in the Workshop
• Fabrication Techniques
• Body Repair Procedures
• Mechanical, Electrical, and Trim (MET)

Entry requirements

This course is intended for learners who have completed a Level 1 qualification in motor vehicle studies or possess prior experience in the automotive sector. Students who have not achieved a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths or English will continue working towards these qualifications alongside their technical studies.

Career prospects

The syllabus concentrates on body repair and paint processes, preparing learners for practical roles in vehicle bodyshops or for progression to further technical training within the motor vehicle sector.
