What you'll study

Study begins with three core courses to build research and comparative legal foundations, followed by elective modules in a chosen specialisation and a dissertation:

• Core modules: Research Methods and Legal Writing; Comparative Public Law / Systems of Governance; Law and Justice in a Globalizing World.
• Specialisations & example topics:
• Corporate Law — corporate governance, arbitration, contract drafting; courses include SEBI Rules and Practice, International Arbitration, Corporate Law Practice.
• Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) — technology and patent-focused subjects such as Cyber Law, Patent Law, Copyright Law.
• Human Rights Law — International Human Rights Law, Refugee Law, Humanitarian Law and advocacy-oriented research.
• Criminal and Forensic Law — Comparative Criminal Justice Systems, International Criminal Law, Advanced Criminal Law, Cyber Crimes and Cyber Forensics.
• Constitutional and Administrative Law — Media Law and Constitution, Election Laws and Democratic Process, Data Privacy and Constitutional Law, Advanced Constitutional Law.
• Practical elements: independent dissertation research under faculty mentorship; guest lectures and workshops with advocates, corporate lawyers and policymakers; value-added courses such as Research Methodology, Legal Writing and Advocacy Skills; optional teaching assistantship in the final semester.

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold an LL.B. (3‑year or 5‑year) from a recognised university. Candidates must qualify in a recognised national postgraduate law test (CLAT/AILET/LSAT/LNAT/CUET-PG or another national test). If an applicant has not taken one of these exams, the university will conduct its own entrance test for the PG programme.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for careers across litigation and legal practice, corporate law firms, in-house counsel and compliance roles, academic and research posts (including UGC-NET eligibility support), judicial and policy research positions, public sector legal advisory roles, NGOs and specialised IP practice such as patent or trademark consultancy.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

The programme lists a fee concession scheme tied to qualifying degree performance: a scholarship amount of ₹75,000 is indicated for candidates with graduation marks of 60% and above (CGPA above 6.0).
