What you'll study

The programme is organised across three years (six semesters). Year 1 establishes foundations; Year 2 advances theory and specialised topics; Year 3 emphasises application and research.

• Year 1 (Foundational concepts): Principles of Economics (Micro & Macro); Principles of Management; History of Economic Thoughts; Mathematical Economics; Business Mathematics; Statistics & Research Methodology – I; Basic Computer Skills for Professionals; Environmental Studies; Entrepreneurship; Creative Thinking & Negotiation; Minor Project.
• Year 2 (Advanced theory & specialisations): Behavioural Economics; Financial Economics; Statistics & Research Methodology – II; Corporate Governance & Sustainability; Environmental Economics; Summer Internship.
• Year 3 (Applications & customisation): Econometrics; International Trade; Economics of Growth & Development; Electives such as Indian Economy, Comparative Economic Development, Human Values & Ethics, Effective Communication; Major Project.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have completed 10+2 from a recognised board in any stream and qualify CUET-UG or another applicable national undergraduate test. Candidates who have not taken those tests will sit an NCU entrance exam in the discipline. The programme has 20 seats.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for roles in corporate, government, research and financial sectors. Typical positions and pathways highlighted by the programme include:

• Economic analyst or economics posts (including preparation for IES)
• Statistical analyst and research roles
